Scorpion Portable Pickleball Set

The First Team Scorpion Portable Pickleball Set brings steady, in-ground style net performance to any flat court surface, indoors or outdoors. It is designed for schools, recreation centers, gyms, clubs, and multi-use facilities that need to set up pickleball quickly and clear the court just as easily when play is done.

Each base unit has a weighted ballast box at the back with 300 lb of pre-installed weight. This keeps the base stable during net tensioning and play, and helps it resist tipping in windy outdoor conditions. Because the bases are weighted, the set does not need a long ground stiffening bar running along the bottom of the net. That keeps the playing area clear and makes both setup and storage much simpler for your staff.

Moving the set is a one-person job. Tip the upright backward to engage the non-marking transport wheels, then push or pull the unit into position. When you return the base to its upright playing position, it rests on its foot pads and stays in place.

The heavy-duty pickleball net attaches to each post with Velcro post pockets. Velcro tensioning straps let you set the net to 36" at the posts and 34" at the center. Black safety padding covers each base to help guard against player contact, and it can stay on during transport. The bases and net store in an area of roughly 48" x 60". The black powder coat finish adds durability, and the set is backed by a lifetime limited warranty.

FAQ's

What is included with the Scorpion set?

The set includes two portable base units, one heavy-duty pickleball net, two base pads, and two base extension pads.

Can it be used indoors and outdoors?

Yes. The Scorpion is designed for both indoor and outdoor use on flat court surfaces.

Will it move or tip during play?

Each base carries 300 lb of pre-installed ballast and rests on foot pads during play, which keeps it stable during net tensioning and game play.

How do I move the set?

Remove the net, then tip each base backward to engage the wheels and push or pull it to the desired location. One person can move each unit.

Will the wheels mark my gym floor?

The Scorpion uses non-marking transport wheels.

How do I set the correct net height?

Position the net about 1/2" below the top of each post for a 36" height at the ends. Then use the Velcro tensioning straps until the center of the net measures 34".

Does the padding need to be removed for transport?

No. The safety padding can stay on while the bases are rolled.

How much storage space is needed?

The bases and net store in an area of roughly 48" x 60".

Is assembly required?

Yes, minor assembly is required. Each L-shaped upright bolts to its weighted base, and the net and padding attach afterward. The base units are very heavy, so use care when removing them from the pallet.
